David – Community Supporter – Expert in New Orleans/Louisiana Voodoo, Haitian Vodou, and Gullah Geechee Conjure.
My name is David, known on social media as The_Voodoo_and_Hoodoo_Magician.
Ever since my earliest childhood, I have been fascinated by magic, spirituality and the world’s hidden traditions – from historical, mythological and spiritual perspectives alike. My own magical journey began at a very early age: at around 13 years old, I started to actively engage with magical practice.
At the age of 14, I met my mentor, an African American woman with roots in Haiti and Cuba, who introduced me to various traditional systems. Through her, I first learnt the basics of traditional magic, before she introduced me to Louisiana Voodoo and initiated me as a Voodooking. In addition, she taught me aspects of Haitian Voodoo and eventually introduced me to the system of Gullah Geechee Conjure, where I was initiated by the Ancestors of Conjure.
In 2020, I began sharing my content on social media. My aim is to educate people about my practice, provide authentic insights into traditional magical systems, and share small magical tips – particularly from Hoodoo – for everyday life. At the same time, it is important to me to clear up misinformation surrounding Hoodoo and Voodoo and to show that both young people and traditional magical paths can have a strong future.
A central part of my spiritual practice is working with various spiritual forces and spiritual allies. I work with a helper spirit (ancestral spirit) who supports me in my work. My spiritual head (Metéte/Ori) is Eshu-Elegua. My spiritual mother (Mana-Lwa) is Ezili Dantor, whilst my spiritual father (Papa-Lwa) is Baron Samedi.
In addition, I work with a wide variety of spiritual forces and entities, including Orishas, Lwa, ancestral spirits, Ancestors of Conjure, Conjure Spirits, as well as Catholic and folk saints.
My work focuses on cleansing, protection, uncrossing, clearing pathways and counter-magic. Through these practices, I actively support people in various life situations to release negative influences, remove blockages and open up new paths.
My practice combines tradition, respect for spiritual lineages and practical magical work, with the aim of helping people find spiritual balance, protection and new opportunities in their lives.
My contribution to the construction of the Axis Mundi Temple.
I don’t want to use the platform and reach I’ve built up over the years on social media solely for my own benefit, but also to support people and projects that stem from genuine passion and conviction.
As I have known Ben for several years now and regard him as a valued colleague, a trusted friend and a dedicated practitioner, it goes without saying that I wish to participate in this project and offer my support.
I will do my utmost to promote the construction of the Axis Mundi Temple to the best of my ability – whether by sharing the vision, supporting the initiative or through my own spiritual work.
My responsibilities also include blessing, erecting and energetically anchoring the altars for Baron Samedi, Papa Legba, the Orishas, as well as many other Loas of the Louisiana, Ayiti & Dominican Voodoo & Hoodoo traditions.
Each of these altars is created with great devotion and serves as a spiritual focal point for their respective presence and power.
Through collaboration, trust and a shared vision, a place is thus created, step by step, that brings together spiritual practice, knowledge and tradition.
